Headteacher's welcome

Welcome you to our school website, we hope you find all of the information that you are looking for. We are proud of our school and work hard to ensure that our school is at the heart of our community.

We believe that the heart and substance of our school is not the building, but the people who attend it. Our dynamic learning community has a commitment to the personal and academic growth of everyone. We maintain our commitment to our pupils, parents and staff to ensure they are nurtured, enabled and supported to develop and to be their best selves within a caring environment where everyone is happy, safe and secure.

With commitment and support from fully trained professional staff, every child is guided and encouraged to develop their full potential in all areas of learning. We recognise that everyone has an important part to play in children’s development and that all contributions no matter how big or small are valued. We therefore seek to work in close partnership with parents and other professionals at all times.

We have high expectations in all we do; behaviour, presentation, personal and academic progress, and we work hard to fulfil our ambitions. Whether working together in lessons, putting on amazing productions, or taking part in clubs and sporting events, teamwork is important to us. At our school, you will find a community of people – Children, Staff, Governors and Parents - who are respectful and supportive of each other. We know that working hard together helps us to achieve our goals and provides us all with amazing and enjoyable moments along the way. ‚Äč

We strive to provide our children with a learning environment that educates and inspires. We make the most of all our resources to ensure that our pupils have access to spaces that stimulate and inspire, including our fabulous library, music room, a wildlife & nature classroom and our treasured Jo Cox Garden. We even have our own bees!

I feel proud to be the Headteacher of Heckmondwike Primary School. I am fully committed to ensuring that the school serves our local children and their families well, building on success with an unwavering focus on doing what is best for our children.

In the meantime, if you would like to know more about our school, you are very welcome to come and visit
